Jason Kennedy joined Rochdale in the summer of 2009 on a free transfer after his former club Darlington went into administration.
Jason is well known to Dale fans. He has scored two magnificent goals in two seasons against us, both on SKY. He began his career at Middlesborough where he made his debut in a Premiership game against Fulham. He also made three appearances in the UEFA Cup with Middlesborough during their fantastic run to the final in that year.
After failing to establish himself in the first team, Jason spent time on loan at Boston United, Bury, Livingston and finally Darlington, where he spent all of the 08/09 season. Whilst on loan at Darlington in 07/08 he scored the first of his fantastic goals against us, in the first leg of the semi-final, turning Rory McArdle with his first touch and bending the ball round Tommy Lee with his second. However, in the second leg Jason had his penalty shoot-out kick saved by Lee, which turned out to be crucial.
He put pen to paper in the summer on a two year deal and has already formed a strong partnership alongside Gary Jones in the centre of midfield.
