Rochdale manager Keith Hill was pleased to see his side take a point from Saturday's encounter with Lincoln City and was pleased to see his side continue unbeaten in the league.

"I think you could say it was a point gained to be honest not two dropped because I believe we played into the opposing teams strategy. We had too many negative passes because everyone was coming in safe side of the ball I thought we didn't put them under enough pressure.

"I thought we managed to get our game plan going in the second half but I believe they deserved to get something out of the game. They didn't have to come here to win the match and I thought they way they used their tactics was excellent.Rotherham on Tuesday night made it easier for us because they were coming here to win three points while Lincoln came here to try and steal them.

"We went a little direct looking for the diagonal balls to Chris O'Grady and I thought Tom Kennedy's long range passing was excellent. We are really pleased to get something out of the game because as I said prior to the game everything cannot be carnival football and I was reasonably happy with the display and the point.

"They defended our set pieces well, I think we had 17 corners in the game and Drewe Broughton did an excellent job on Craig Dawson in those situations.I think at times we have to ignore Craig and look for other options.

"In the grand scheme of things I'm happy because we are still averaging two points a game and we have 69 in the bank.We aren't too concerned about other teams because as I have said before it is about what we do.We did enough to earn a point and every single point from here on in is a good one.I know everyone is a little bit down because they expect us to win every game due to the form we are in, but we cannot always do that and we have to give a lot of respect to the opposition.

"I'm pleased with the way the season is going so far we are still top of the league as we have for the last three months and I don't see any reason why that should change. We will face Shrewsbury, Notts County and Bournemouth who will be out to win the game and it suits us.

"Will Atkinson has enjoyed his time at the club and we will be disappointed to see him go back to Hull City.He has been an exceptional player for us and I couldn't give him a better reference than saying he has the ability to be a top player.I'm sure he'll go out on loan again and he'll be just as successful wherever he goes. He's a top man and it is unfortunate for us that we cannot keep him until the end of the season.

"It is possible we could look for a replacement for Will but we do have good players within our ranks. We have those with a cavalier approach and those trustworthy players who stick to our gameplan though I'd never rule out anyone coming in who could offer us something extra to the team."
