Rochdale AFC Youth Department are hoping to identify families in the Rochdale area who would be able and willing to accommodate some of our Youth Scholars from Monday 28th June 2010 onwards for a period of approximately two years until early May 2012.

These are players who will not be able to travel from home to the Club on a daily basis. Many of them will be young school leavers entering paid employment for the first time and will be living away from home. This will be a very difficult transitional period for some of these young men and the Club is, therefore, looking for families who may have children of a similar age or had similar experiences who would be able to support our young players as they seek to become professional footballers.

These players will be serving a two year apprenticeship playing in the Youth Team and the Reserves but hoping to break into the First Team before they reach the end of their two year scholarship. If they should succeed in achieving this objective, they may be rewarded with a professional playing contract with the Club. The Club is very keen to develop home grown talent through the youth system but this will only be possible with the help and support of families living in the local community.

Anyone interested in discussing terms and conditions, etc should contact Colin Garlick or Colin McLaren at the Club on 01706 644 648 in order to arrange a mutually convenient meeting.
